How being a father has changed my perspective on leadership

A great project manager is also a great leader.

As a project manager, I am consistently working on being a valuable, trusting leader.

My experience as a father has been one of the best teachers.

My son is almost 15 months now, and I find myself realizing he is making me a better leader, a more thoughtful one.

I'm learning how to serve and provide without the expectation of any recognition. I'm learning that feeling guilty because I've not given in to my son's requests is okay. I'm learning that although it makes him mad and frustrated at times, it is my role to protect him and look out for his and our family's best interest.

My hope is that the leadership qualities I learn in my household translate to the leader I am in my career.
